True holidays surrounded by nature in Le Teich

Le Teich welcomes you to get away from it all surrounded by unspoilt greenery, away from the hustle and bustle of life! Those who love wide open spaces are sure to enjoy the experience. From the Domaine de Fleury estate to the Ornithological Reserve to the delta of the Leyre, Le Teich is the ideal spot for you.

Watch the birds in the Ornithological Reserve

Coma and watch the birds by their thousands in the Le Teich Ornithological Reserve, which is situated on one of the major migration routes. Slip on some sturdy shoes, pick up a pair of binoculars (available for hire at the entrance) and set off on foot along one of the paths to discover more than 260 bird species. You can also stop in the observation hides along the way to watch the birds in freedom.

Opt for a guided tour alone with the birds at dusk in summer

A bucolic outing along the Domaine de Fleury path

Set out into the heart of wooded marshes and wet meadows for a walk through Domaine de Fleury. Allow approximately 1 hour to walk the 3-km route. Along the way, you might come across different species of birds such as herons, storks and spoonbills as well as a few Blonde d’Aquitaine cows out to pasture.

Keep your eyes peeled, you might be lucky enough to spot a European pond turtle

Along the water in the delta of the Leyre

On foot, by bike or on the water, follow the course of the Leyre which is also known as the Bay’s “little Amazon”. To explore the wild side of the delta, don’t hesitate to hire a boat (no licence required), a canoe or stand-up paddle board from the harbour in Le Teich. Far from the hustle and bustle of the town, you’re sure to feel a sense of freedom!

The little coves along the river are perfect for a picnic!
