With its long pier, oyster port, natural spaces, beaches and lively town, Andernos-les-Bains has everything you need for a great holiday with friends or family!
Take a walk along the longest pier in France
Stroll to the end of the 232m-long pier with your camera in hand to admire the view of boats and oyster-farm stakes and watch the birds. Or come and discover it at sunset! Not far from the pier, you can walk along Boulevard de la Plage to admire the attractive local-style houses, called Arcachonnaises.
Relax in the oyster port
While you’re here, take the opportunity to wander along flower-covered alleys in the oyster port. The cabins here are all different colours! For lunch, take a seat in a restaurant and enjoy a seafood platter, or on the water’s edge to watch the comings and goings of oyster farmers’ flat-bottomed boats returning to harbour. Nearby, visit Saint-Éloi church dating from the 11th century with its magnificent friezes, paintings and murals, then stop off at the remains of a 4th-century Gallo-Roman villa.
Explore the countryside
From the oyster port, set off to discover St-Brice-Les Quinconces-Le Coulin, one of Arcachon Bay’s natural sites.
Follow the coastal path to enjoy a view of the whole bay from Pointe des Quinconces.
This is lovely little spot popular with locals. Further north, cross the Cirès river to get to the beautiful Conche de Saint Brice beach in Arès.
